Arsenal boss believes in Giroud – Get used to it!

Despite the fact that Arsenal fans have their own song for the big French striker and the fact that the football media is full of praise for him and think he is one of the key players that have helped the Gunners get to the top of the table and stay there this season, some people just have no time for him.
It is a matter of opinion, of course, but some people’s opinions of Giroud put him somewhere between a chocolate teapot and Francis Jeffers on the scale of usefulness. But those Arsenal fans are just going to have to get used to the fact that Giroud is set to be a big part of the Arsenal team for the next few years, because Arsene Wenger, whose opinion it is that really matters, has complete faith in Giroud and is happy with the way his front man is performing.
Even though Arsenal made a high profile bid for Luis Suarez in the summer and have been linked with just about every big name striker there is, Wenger has assured Giroud that his place is secure, something that Giroud will be really glad to hear. It is also good for us, because we need Giroud to be playing with as much confidence as possible, something which still seems slightly fragile at times.
In an Arsenal.com report, Wenger said, “But it(Suarez bid) was not to replace Giroud. We never wanted to replace Giroud, we always had complete confidence in him. I said at the beginning of the season that he always does better in the second year everywhere and he shows that again thi8s season.
“He is a very important player for us and I am not surprised at all that he is doing well.”
Indeed, he improved his goal tally from 14 to 25 in his second season at Montpellier and they won the French title in that second year. With just one less than his previous Arsenal tally in the league already this season and 14 games to play, can the big Frenchman do the same again in England? Na Na Na Naaaa, we’ll see!
